Come with me on a journey, a journey with a God who is bigger than you or I ever imagined, and yet is mindful of even the smallest of our cares, worries, and needs.

On our first day of ministry, we had the opportunity to meet in three homes. The third of which, we prayed for a blind woman to see. She had some change, but her main issue was internal, causing her to not be able to eat.* The family and a caregiver** surrounded her, and we prayed over them as well.

Upon a return visit, three of us came back and a new friend from the ministry, who was able to translate. Pieces of a puzzle began to come together as I realized how intentional God had been to use our team and host. The caregiver, at the bedside, told us that the week before she had been struggling with darkness in her life. She couldn’t quite explain it, but she felt weighed down and scared in dreams from the enemy. This left her with a broken spirit and need for the Lord to intervene. She had prayed to Him, and would temporarily feel lighter, but not relieved from the weight of the darkness.

During our visit the past week, unbeknownst to us, our ministry host had prayed against darkness in her life! And it was exactly what she had been struggling with! GOD IS SO AMAZING!!! Not only that, but she had been relieved from the weight ever since! Not only that, but when we prayed before going to do house visits that day, one of the girls had shared that she felt like someone was experiencing darkness, and needed to be freed from it! Not only that, but ALL of us had completely forgotten that she had shared this in the beginning!

As the pieces of this tiny puzzle in the grand scheme of God’s story came together, I WAS IN AWE of how big and intimate and intentional our God is.

As she shared, and we provided encouragement through scripture for her, the Lord reminded me of a verse that He had taken me to just a few days prior to translate into Spanish and write on cards to share with people. It was John 12:46,

“ I have come into the world as light, so that whoever believes in me may not remain in darkness.”

“He veindo al mundo como luz para que quien crea en mi no permanezca en la oscuridad.” –Juan 12:46

At this point with the Lord, I don’t believe in coincidences, and know that this was placed on my heart for her. Our translator friend <3 felt that we should pray scripture, and encouraged the caregiver to do the same. I shared this scripture and also John 1:4-5,

“In him was life, and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.”

Lord, You are able to connect what none of us ever could! You show us images, words, and bring to remembrance scripture through Your Holy Spirit! Thank You for having a plan, for using us as ambassadors of Your truth, love, and grace. I pray for our friend who has been released from this weight of darkness to have everything that she needs in You! That You would be her Shepherd and Protector, and bring to remembrance all that she needs to grow in intimacy with You and live a life of victory! I also ask that those who read these words would be blessed in the reading of this testimony, and that a heart for You would be ignited in them! Thank You Lord for so many blessings that You have given us! Amen.

*Since this meeting, our friend who was sick did pass away. Please be praying for the family as they grieve.
