all things update!

Hey y’all! Thank you for being patient with the limited communication over the past month and a half. I plan to take time this month to write more stories and share with you some of the amazing things that God has done and is doing! What I did want to share with you now, is that we have had a few changes for K Squad, even this week!

First, we will not be going to Southeast Asia, as the borders remain closed. So, we will hopefully be ending our time on the amazing continent of Africa!!! More big news…as South America has placed vaccination requirements for entry in place, our entire squad has been rerouted for the next four months to Eastern Europe!!! First stop: Albania!

I am looking forward to getting used to a new language, creating relationships with even more people, learning new cultures, but especially sharing the gospel with people in the 10/40 window! Please be praying for our leadership and logistics teams as they pivot really quick to a new location and place us with different ministry hosts.

But wait… there’s more! We also have been placed on new teams for the next four months of our journey. So, drum roll please for my new team…..

Dear God

Yep, that’s the name. Now, I know it may sound a little strange, but each of us has a reason that this name makes sense for our new group of 7, and for me it’s because I see this team as one of prayer. That we would seek the Lord in all things; beginning with Him, continuing with Him, and running to Him in times of distress or celebration! If the first four months have taught me anything, it’s that God is in control, He hears our prayers, and every word carries power through the Holy Spirit! So, without further ado I introduce to you my team for the next four months:

Jackson Juska Jack (Team Leader)

Caitlyn Smith Caitlyn (Treasurer)

Colton Syler Colton (Health Care Coordinator)

Allie White Allie (Health Care Coordinator)

Joey Luca Joey (Prayer and Intercessory Coordinator)

Jose Esteban Jose (Logistics)

Samantha Rouse Samantha (Beauty for Ashes Coordinator)

As we enter into this next season please be praying for:

  • Increased intimacy with the Lord
  • Unity on our squad and new teams
  • Safe travel internationally and locally
  • Hearts of locals prepared to hear and receive the good news!
  • Surrender to the direction that the Lord takes us and the lessons that He has to teach us
  • Peace for my family following the recent death of my grandfather
  • Continued refinement
  • Season of rest
  • That everything would begin and end with praise and thanksgiving to the Lord:

MORE

4 months in, and 7 to go.

Still, not enough time to know.

All the ways, that season and shine;

what makes you worthy of being the vine.

In struggles, or victory, you light the way.

You heal and restore;

all you ask, is that I obey.

You place people in my life that teach me to love;

and propel me forward, never saying, “I’ve done enough.”

You sent Your Son, to die for me;

and I pray, I will never forget that tree.

Where my sins went to die that day.

Thank you Jesus, for showing me the way.

I know you now, more than I ever have before.

But I ask that you never stop;

yet continue to restore.

My heart, and this world, that seek more of You;

the life that is all about, what You say, and what You do.

Identity calls, and begins to light the way;

like a lamp on my feet, or so your words say.

Endurance is possible, one day at a time;

if worries are allowed to be left behind.

Better is one day in your courts;

than a thousand, making retorts.

Focusing, on could-have-beens, instead of

what is, was, and will be.

It’s always been You, that my heart longs for.

One thing, I know now, that will forever be sure.

You are light and love and all that is good.

I pray to continue seeing more, under the hood.

Mystery revealed and truth yet discerned;

it’s all about fixing our eyes on the Word.
